Coach David Pope has over 25 years of coaching experience as a former varsity wrestling and football coach, 15-year flag football coach and experienced physical education and health teacher. He is a 3x Assistant Coach of the Year Winner for high school wrestling, a Rhode Island Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee and a former D1 collegiate football player at the University of Rhode Island. Coach Pope is known for his passion, highly personalized approach and focus on making sure athletes have confidence and a strong understanding of foundational skills to help them thrive in their sports journeys. His dynamic programs—ranging from high-energy flag football camps, clinics and tournaments to technical 1-on-1 wrestling sessions—are built upon a philosophy of excellence and character development. Coach Pope has also been a mentor to many educators and coaches. Coach Pope Sports is not just another sports program--we are a company focused on helping players succeed through a nurturing, personalized and structured approach.
